India added, Japan replaced by Brazil
The ECDC apparently publishes wrong data (almost no counts) for the development of COVID-19 in Japan. For that reason I replaced the figure for Japan with that for Brazil.

Unfortunately, I was never able to automatize the generation of figures with the data from the Johns Hopkins University. So I return to show the data from the ECDC, only.

The data-files from the European agency are released about 11:00 (GDL, Mex. time), those from Johns Hopkins Universitay around 18:00.

All of us are interested in getting reliable information about how dangerous the COVID-19 pandemia can be. However, typically we just get to know today's accumulated number of infections or accumulated number of deaths. That number is rising continously. However, in order to evaluate the development of the pandemic, one needs to compare the behavior of these numbers over time. It is then best, to consider new cases, and new deaths on a daily basis as explained here, 3Blue1Brown on "Exponential growth and epidemics" Here I will post daily updates of logarithmic plots of the number of new infections and deaths for some selected countries. By comparing the figures, one may try to evaluate the effectiveness of the different attemptsto control the pandemic. The data is taken from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
